YOU MAKE YOUR GARDEN
It's the middle of winter now and our garden, tomatoes, lettuce and corn wonderful sweet tender are only good memories. But we must wait until next summer. Which will be bigger and better than ever. Right?
Same If the rains and thunderstorms, it is too early to plan next years garden "> garden.
I want to plant a pine, with all the nuts for birds and needles for tea. I want an apple, grapes, raspberries, blueberries, corn, potatoes, watermelon and all plants you can find. Fennel, garlic, chives, rosemary, parsley, onion and mint. And mushrooms. My son and I go to pick mushrooms every summer and autumn. Why not grow some in a shady part of my garden?
And now that I have no room inches wide. It's time to get serious and practice.
Step 1. Order catalogs in December and January.
Step 2. Make a list of everything you want. Do not skimp. You can always delete some of them more Later, if you change your mind. Remember, this is your garden. Make sure that you want.
Step 3. Check your garden. See how much space currently have.
Step 4. Plan where to put things. Draw a diagram showing where everything will be paper. At this point, you may have to score points on your list and add others.
Step 5. Order your plants early spring.
Step 6. Once the danger of frost has passed to planting. Use the diagram as a guide. Remember, this is your garden if you can change your mind if you wish.
You can mix herbs with flowers or flowers with your vegetables. You can have tomatoes in the flower garden. Using lettuce as a border. Use your imagination.
The flowers may be edible, too. Maybe you can combine with the vegetables.
For example:
A. Calendula name the grass this year the Year by the International Herb Association, has yellow and orange flowers are a bright spot in any environment. Petals are taste, light pepper and add lots of flavor and color to any salad.
Violet B. were sensitive blue-purple and grows well under trees. They have a very delicate flavor and can be used in target = "_blank" title = "The herbal salad"> salads and desserts. Decorate a plate of ice cream or bread pudding.
C. Roses. The plant variety to the first. They have fabulous colors and scents. Make sure you have not been treated with pesticides or chemical fertilizers that go up the stem and roses. Use them in salads, desserts, tea and frozen.
Try this rose to sandwich cucumber. You will need:
Fresh white bread
Cool, very fragrant rose petals 2 or 3 roses
1 cucumber, thinly sliced
3 or 4 leaves red leaf lettuce
Juice of 1 lemon
Soft butter
In a small bowl, pour lemon juice on the slices cucumber and set aside for a few minutes while the bread with butter.
Put a layer of cucumber on bread with butter, then a layer of petals pink. Garnish with lettuce and another slice of bread with butter.
For a touch of elegance Cut crusts from bread. Sandwiches in small triangles and served on a plate pretty full.
Remember to decorate your garden and make your own. Do you like birds? Hang some aviaries or feeders. An old woman, I know that honey drizzle in pineapples. Then press the seed in honey, and ended the blockade of the pineapple in a tree. The love birds.
Do you like bells, music, things that jingle? Hang some wind chimes.
Try some stones strategically placed to help start moving in the garden.
But whatever you do, your own garden, which reflects their taste and personality. Must be your special place for people that show what you are and what it is.
