Trim chops of excess fat and brown on both sides in a skillet on the stove. Place chops at the bottom of the pan and cover with bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and green onion. Combine remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour over the vegetables. Simmer for 8 hours or until the ribs are tender and cooked through. Serve hot with cooked rice.
